18 months and the ZOO!

We went to the doctor for Grace Ann's 18 month check-up, and she really put on a show for Dr. Gilbert. When we went into the exam room, there was a poster of the alphabet. Grace Ann pointed to it and immediately began singing the ABC song. Then she pointed at the "Z" (which was hintfully colored in black and white stripes) and said "Z - Zebra". There was also an animal book in the room, and Grace Ann wanted to show Dr. Gilbert all the animals and tell her their sounds. It was so funny! Grace Ann weighs 22 pounds (20% percentile) and is 31 inches tall (30% percentile). Obviously, Dr. Gilbert was very impressed with her verbal skills, but agreed that I was going to have my hands full, because GA can be very strong-willed (not so happy with the examination part of the visit). She gave me some tips on handling "fit-pitching". Sadly, Grace Ann had to have three shots and was ready to get out of there!

We also took a quick zoo trip this morning before Will had to play in a tournament. I didn't get that many great pictures, because Grace Ann was too busy looking at the animals to look at the camera. However, she wanted to take pictures of the animals herself and would say "Cheese Tiger", "Cheese Monkey", etc. until I let her hold the camera to take some pretend pictures!

Golf Tournament Weekend! (one of many)

We had a fun weekend visiting with Will's parents
while he played in a golf tournament.
Grace Ann loves playing in her Gam's flowers.
Reminding herself that it is a
"No No No" to get in the fountain water!

Showing me the flower she picked at the Country Club

Putting the flag back!

(She is really into putting everything "back" and cleaning up! I hope that lasts!)

18 Month Pictures

Grace Ann just turned 18 months old, and I had Kelley Davis take some pictures of her. Kelley has been taking her picture since she was 3 months old and always gets great ones (even when Grace Ann is not cooperative at all!) I was so pleased with these, because I thought they really showed my munchkin's funny personality!

Feverish Baby + 85 Degree House = Frustrated Mommy!

On Thursday, Grace Ann had a Mother's Day breakfast at her school. I had only been gone a little while before they called and said that she had a 102 degree temp. I picked her up and we went home to a very HOT house. Our AC was not working. It was much cooler downstairs than upstairs in the bedrooms, so Grace Ann and I spent the night on the den floor. Needless to say, I didn't sleep too much! I went to work on Friday, and Will stayed home. He took GA to the doctor and had a man come fix the AC. Apparently, she just has a fever virus. She has still had some low-grade fever today, but since it wasn't too hot outside this morning we got some fresh air!

We are enjoying our "new-to-us" Crocs! Thanks Bec Bec!

P. S. Two days after I posted this, Grace Ann woke up with a rash all over her body! Lovely! Apparently it was also part of this fun fever virus. It lasted about 2 days but finally went away!

Not So Cute

Dear Mr. School-Picture-Taking Man,
The next time you take a picture of my child, could you please NOT part her hair down the middle? Thanks so much!

I sat in an hour of Friday afternoon traffic to go to the "only pick-up day" of school pictures for this. Seriously?

Rebecca is 2!

We had a wonderful afternoon at Rebecca's Minnie Mouse
birthday party at Play Place!
Here is Grace Ann all dressed and ready to go to the party.
She was just out of the tub and still had wet hair!
