Clearly, this is Mommy's favorite outfit. . .

I promise that Lizzie has other clothes, but it just seems like everytime she decides to cooperate for the camera she is wearing this same one!  Had to post these pictures to remember sweet girl as she turned 10 MONTHS yesterday!  How did that happen?  I'm a starting to get really sad about my baby growing up! In the last few days, she has started standing alone for a few seconds at a time.  Her personality is coming out more everyday.  She is so funny and gets so excited!  Everytime Will walks in the room she starts waving and saying "dadadadada" - even if she just saw him a minute before!

Look at that hair!

Thanks for the bow, Mom!

Even though you can only see two in this picture, she now has SIX teeth!

Margaret's 3rd Birthday

We went to a cute birthday party this morning for GA's friend, Margaret.   I took WAY too many pictures, but GA was in heaven dressed up like Aurora and I just couldn't stop myself!

Happy Birthday to You!
And when we got home, I snapped a few of Lizzie!

Happy Valentine's Day!

We had lots of Valentine's festivities in the Swift house this year!  Yesterday the kids had their MDO parties.

Gifts for the teachers

Gifts for GAs friends with  "I'm OVER THE MOON for you!" picture (below) and a Moon Pie

Just for fun, I went to the dollar store and spent $4 on tacky Vday decorations to surprise GA this morning.  She loved it!

Silly, but fun!

We had a few gifts for the girls- mostly things I was looking for an excuse to give them.  Grace Ann got this Barbie figure that she asks for every time we are in the Target line.  They both got swimsuits and cover ups.  GA got some books and Lizzie got a sippy cup and some puffs.
GamMama and GanDaddy sent GA and Lizzie some gifts too.  GA got a new horse to go with her dollhouse!

Granny sent this puzzle!
"Let's forget the gifts and get breakfast going!"

GA had heart-shaped cinnamon rolls for breakfast

GA was ready to get dressed for the day.  Lizzie was ready for a nap!

I somehow forgot to take pictures after this point, but the day was great.  GA had gymnastics and enjoyed trading Valentine's with her friends there.  The mailman brought more Vday treats from Mimi and lots of cards from friends and family.  Then RahRah came with balloons and cooked us steaks for supper.  GA said he was a "pleasant surprise" (I didn't tell her he was coming so she wouldn't be distracted from taking her nap-she still refused a nap:-) Finally, Will came home with roses!  What a great day!  We are so spoiled with friends and family that we love and love us!

I'm 9 Months!

Lizzie is 9 months old!  I can't believe it!  Here are a few pictures that I took of her playing today.

At her check up this week, she was 28 1/4 inches long (75th percentile) and 18 lbs, 11.5 oz.  (40th percentile).  Dr. Gilbert looked at her measurements and said, "So I'm thinking she is more into moving than eating!"  She is exactly right!  Lizzie is all over the place!  She is even crawling up the stairs (this is my least favorite of her new tricks!)

Her motor skills are impressive, but her eating skills are NOT! She will not eat ANYTHING off a spoon - except maybe a few spoonfuls of GA's full-of-sugar yogurt!  She will eat pick-up foods, but there really aren't that many convenient, nutritious things that a barely 9-month-old baby with only a few teeth can pick up and eat easily.   So, I have had to turn into one of those really "earthy" moms who actually makes her own baby food. Don't get me wrong, I'm all about feeding my kids healthy, organic food as much as possible. But Earth's Best Organic in the jar was just fine for Grace Ann and sooo much easier!  Also, the recent warnings about kids getting exposed to too many chemicals from canned foods has made me nervous about using them often. I'm just not that into cooking, but I've had to learn how to make healthy things in a consistency that Lizzie will eat.

So as of now, here is the small list of things she will eat:
Blueberries (cut in lots of tiny pieces)
Butternut Squash (I have to bake it in the oven and scoop it out so she can pick it up)
Sweet Potatoes (bake or steam so she can pick up)
Sweet Peas (I try to get fresh ones at Costco and steam them but we sometimes use canned organic ones)
Carrots (steamed and mashed with a fork)
Apples (steamed and mashed with fork)
Puffs, Yogurt Melts, Baby Mum Mum and other toddler snacks

This is her reaction when I told her "No, No" because she was getting close to the cords. This face also describes how I feel about her eating habits :-)

Unfortunately, she won't eat the easy things to mash like Bananas or Avocado.   I'm having to bathe her after almost every meal because she gets so much food in that head full of hair! (Okay, thanks for letting me vent about the amount of time I am spending preparing food for, feeding, and cleaning her! UGH!)

Other than her eating habits, she is a complete JOY!  She loves to play patty-cake and starts clapping as soon as we sing the words.  She waves goodbye and hello.  She constantly says "DaDa",  occasionally says "RahRah", rarely says "MaMa", and has said "Sis" a few times.  She is a great sleeper and usually takes two good naps a day.  Her teeth have been driving her crazy, but she still happy unless she is really tired. She has three visible teeth - two on bottom and one "fang" on top!

Not the best picture, but the only one I got of her clapping

This is the view I usually have.  This girl in ON THE MOVE and tries to escape diaper changes, bottles, etc

Heaven has a new Angel

My precious Grandmama went to heaven this week.  We are so sad, because we will miss her so much, but we are also really happy that she is in a perfect place with no sickness.  We spent the weekend in Eufaula celebrating her life with family and friends.  We stayed in some cabins on Lake Eufaula and the scenery was too beautiful for me to leave the camera in the bag.

By the time we left the church, GA's dress was soaked!

Grace Ann and Louise

The kids had so much playing around the fountain while we were eating lunch at the church.

There was a brand new playground within walking distance of our cabins.  Lizzie loved swinging with Tom.

Libby, Louise and Tate were so sweet to Grace Ann.  She loved playing with the big kids.
