Almost 2 1/2
GA is almost 2 1/2 years old! How did that happen? Since I know we will be really busy in the next few weeks, I thought I would go ahead and do an "update" post.
Her Personality:
She is VERY strong willed as I have mentioned multiple times. She is sooo sweet, but just likes things her way. She is such a daddy's girl. All I hear all day long is "Let Daddy do it!" "I wanna go with Daddy". This morning I was giving her a hug and called her "Mommy's angel". She corrected me and said, "No, I'm Daddy's Angel!" It's a good thing I love him as much as she does so I don't get me feelings hurt! She loves her teachers and friends and talks about them all the time. She has the funniest sense of humor and constantly keeps us laughing.
Eating:
She is still a pretty good eater. She has discovered juice boxes and looks forward to a juice box and snack on the patio with Will everyday when she gets home from school. She drinks milk most of the day and has been having water with dinner. She doesn't really like sweets like ice cream or cake, but she has been loving gummy fruit snacks.
Talking:
She continues to say anything and everything. Her teachers constantly comment on how strong her verbal skills are. I try to teach her new words all the time, because I have discovered that she really understands so much more than I realize. She comes home from school and can tell me a lot about her day. A few days ago she said, "Mommy, today we read about the millipede." I asked, "Grace Ann, what is a millipede?" to which she responded, "Mommy, a millipede is kind of like a caterpillar. Caterpillars eat leaves and then they turn into butterflies". I was very impressed with my biology lesson!
Favorites:
Her new favorite character is DORA. She is also starting to like the Disney Princesses and Tinkerbell.
Her favorite place to be is outside. She loves swinging, sliding, and riding the tricycle.
She really doesn't have any favorite toys right now, but she often makes us take her Minnie or Mickey with us in the car or let them sit at the table to eat.
She still sings a lot and still requires music to go to sleep at night.
Other skills:
She counts to 20 in English and 15 in Spanish. She is great with shapes and puzzles. She also likes to "read" books to us and her dolls. She has a lot of her books memorized, but if she doesn't know the words, she makes up words to go along with the pictures. She is sleeping great in her "big girl bed" and is doing great with potty training! She is getting much better at coloring and enjoys her Dora coloring book and markers. She can draw a pretty clear circle and pretends to write our names.
Things we need to work on:
giving up the pacifiers and SHARING!
To be honest, I'm really concerned about how she will respond to her new sister. She is very used to getting all the attention. She has been saying that she wants to be a baby, but we can usually fix that by reminding her that Bec Bec is a big sister and big girl. She wants to do anything Rebecca does, so she will usually agree that she wants to be a big sister like Bec Bec.
She is so much fun now and definitely keeps us busy! I CANNOT believe how fast she is growing up!
