This is a very late two-year update on Lizzie. Poor Lizzie celebrated her birthday on the day after we closed on our house. So since we were in the middle of moving, there really wasn't much of a celebration at all. GA and I took cupcakes to her school so she did celebrate with friends, but we didn't have a big party. Hopefully she will forgive us for this!
At her two year check up, Lizzie weighed 26 pounds (45th percentile) which is exactly what GA weighed at her two year check up. However, Lizzie was 36 inches tall (95th percentile) and GA was only 33 inches tall at two years. Lizzie is the same height at age 2 that GA was at age 3! I keep wondering when Lizzie is going to be taller than GA!
Personality: I keep praying for Lizzie to be laid back, and I think there is still a little hope, but right now she is definitely in the "demanding twos" stage. She wants things her way and her favorite word is NO! I think she is so much like Will in that she only has two speeds! She is a great sleeper, but if she is awake, she is ON THE GO! There is no relaxing, no television watching, no sitting still to read a book! The girl doesn't stop! Her teachers do comment that she is less maintenance than her sister was when they taught her a few years ago because she just does her own thing. I worry sometimes that I haven't taught her as many things like letters, counting, etc. as I taught GA, but Lizzie just won't sit still long enough to learn! I know she is bright though and will learn it all in her own time! She has a hilarious sense of humor and is just so silly! I see soooo much of Will in her personality, and I am so thankful for that! (GA has more Mitchell traits than I can handle! I need some sweet Swift to balance things around here!)
Talking: Lizzie is learning more and more words everyday! She still only talks on an "as needed" basis, but she expresses her needs and wants perfectly. Her first real sentence to me was "Sissy pushed me!" I wasn't happy that there was pushing going on, but I was so excited to hear a full sentence! Her vocabulary is growing so much!
Favorites: The only shows Lizzie asks for are ''DORA" and "Minnie" (Mickey Mouse Clubhouse), but the only time she actually watches one is with Will after I've put GA to sleep. Her best friend is "KyKy " (Kylan) and her favorite toys are baby dolls and stuffed animals. She loves to put on GA's clothes. When GA plays dress up and puts on princess dresses, Lizzie puts on the regular clothes GA takes off. She loves blueberries, strawberries, apple juice, "crashers" (goldfish crackers), chicken and french fries. She is a pretty good eater, but loves junk food! If we even pass by a Chick-fil-a she starts saying "a fry! a fry!"
We have been struggling with a rash of her face that triggered some eczema. It has been so stubborn! I am so sick of putting medicine on her poor face! As a result, we were forced to give up the pacifiers altogether. I'm glad we are done with them, but it makes it so much harder to get her to sleep now. There are many times in the car and at bedtime I really wish I could hand her a paci!
Lizzie has shown a lot of interest in the potty and loves to sit on it, but doesn't actually do anything on the potty yet.
Lizzie is such a joy! I really cannot imagine our family without her! I want her to stay my baby forever and wish she could just slow down! We love her so much!
