Summer Dance 2013

Once again, GA is taking dance just for the summer.  I love this option, because we are so busy during the school year and it's just hard to fit another thing into the schedule.  Here are some pictures from dance today.
GA loved posing.  I was laughing so hard at her expressions!

Lizzie is 2!

This is a very late two-year update on Lizzie.  Poor Lizzie celebrated her birthday on the day after we closed on our house.  So since we were in the middle of moving, there really wasn't much of a celebration at all.  GA and I took cupcakes to her school so she did celebrate with friends, but we didn't have a big party. Hopefully she will forgive us for this!

At her two year check up, Lizzie weighed 26 pounds (45th percentile) which is exactly what GA weighed at her two year check up.  However, Lizzie was 36 inches tall (95th percentile) and GA was only 33 inches tall at two years.  Lizzie is the same height at age 2 that GA was at age 3!  I keep wondering when Lizzie is going to be taller than GA!

Personality:  I keep praying for Lizzie to be laid back, and I think there is still a little hope, but right now she is definitely in the "demanding twos" stage.  She wants things her way and her favorite word is NO! I think she is so much like Will in that she only has two speeds!  She is a great sleeper, but if she is awake, she is ON THE GO!  There is no relaxing, no television watching, no sitting still to read a book!  The girl doesn't stop!  Her teachers do comment that she is less maintenance than her sister was when they taught her a few years ago because she just does her own thing.  I worry sometimes that I haven't taught her as many things like letters, counting, etc. as I taught GA, but Lizzie just won't sit still long enough to learn!  I know she is bright though and will learn it all in her own time! She has a hilarious sense of humor and is just so silly!  I see soooo much of Will in her personality, and I am so thankful for that!  (GA has more Mitchell traits than I can handle!  I need some sweet Swift to balance things around here!)

Talking:  Lizzie is learning more and more words everyday!  She still only talks on an "as needed" basis, but she expresses her needs and wants perfectly.  Her first real sentence to me was "Sissy pushed me!"  I wasn't happy that there was pushing going on, but I was so excited to hear a full sentence! Her vocabulary is growing so much!

Favorites:  The only shows Lizzie asks for are ''DORA" and  "Minnie" (Mickey Mouse Clubhouse), but the only time she actually watches one is with Will after I've put GA to sleep.  Her best friend is "KyKy " (Kylan) and her favorite toys are baby dolls and stuffed animals.  She loves to put on GA's clothes.  When GA plays dress up and puts on princess dresses, Lizzie puts on the regular clothes GA takes off.  She loves blueberries, strawberries, apple juice, "crashers" (goldfish crackers), chicken and french fries.  She is a pretty good eater, but loves junk food! If we even pass by a Chick-fil-a she starts saying "a fry!  a fry!"

We have been struggling with a rash of her face that triggered some eczema. It has been so stubborn!  I am so sick of putting medicine on her poor face!  As a result, we were forced to give up the pacifiers altogether.  I'm glad we are done with them, but it makes it so much harder to get her to sleep now.  There are many times in the car and at bedtime I really wish I could hand her a paci!

Lizzie has shown a lot of interest in the potty and loves to sit on it, but doesn't actually do anything on the potty yet.

Lizzie is such a joy!  I really cannot imagine our family without her!  I want her to stay my baby forever and wish she could just slow down! We love her so much!

End of the soccer season!

SOOO much has happened in the last few weeks and I'm too tired right now to write about it all, but I did want to add these pics from our last soccer game of the season!

Christ the Lord is Risen Today! Alleluia! Easter 2013

We had a wonderful Easter!  I really needed a day to take my mind off everything else and focus on my faith, family, and friends!  The weather was a little dreary so we didn't have as many photo opportunies as I'd like, but I still tried!

This year, GA was terrified of the Easter bunny and did not want him coming inside our house!  After a lot of worry, we decided to just write him a note and leave our baskets outside to be filled!
After emptying baskets, the girls hunted eggs the bunny had hidden in the yard.  Will videoed, but I didn't get that many pictures!  It was barely daylight outside!

I snapped this when we were at church and I realized I didn't take any pictures before we left home!  We were too rushed trying to get to church on time!
At this point, GA is much better at cooperating for pictures.  Last year, Lizzie was better!  Too bad they can't cooperate at the same time!

It was a fun day! Easter will always be my FAVORITE day!  Nothing is better than the music in my church on Easter morning!

Easter Egg Hunts 2013

I feel like every blog post I write lately I say how busy things have been!  Honestly, the last 7 months have been the most stressful in my life!  It is hard to find a balance with working and taking care of two little ones - especially when you are a perfectionist!  I just don't have enough hours in the day!  But the last three weeks have truly been CRAZY!   And the next few week are probably going to be even crazier!  There is a possibility that the next time I write it will be from our new home!  Keeping our fingers crossed!

Anyway, all that to say that instead of 5 or 6 posts about Easter this year, I will just have two!  We did have a wonderful time celebrating the Risen King!

Here are the pictures from our church egg hunt (which was moved inside due to weather) and the HCC egg hunt!

Once Lizzie figured out there was candy, she was done hunting.  Just let me eat!

Flight Museum and New Soccer Season

I'm the worst blogger lately!  Don't worry, summer will be here in a few months and I'll be back to taking WAY too many pictures! But for now, here are a few from a really cute birthday party at the Southern Museum of Flight  and a few from our first soccer game of the new season.  I promise I have taken pictures of Lizzie too, but they are all on my phone and I'm too tired to get them off tonight! I'll do an update post on her soon.  She didn't make the party, because it was during nap!

Besties

the party setup was adorable!

Our team played awesome in their first game.  Our coach is fabulous  (and pretty cute too ;-) !

Good game!  Even though they don't keep score, I know we won!  GA scored two goals and every child on the team scored at least one goal!  GA has improved so much since she started in the fall!
