I haven't done a post on the girls at their current ages and so I thought I needed to catch up! Grace Ann is 5! She is 41 inches tall (40th percentile) and 38 pounds (20th percentile). The two biggest accomplishments for her lately are that she is READING and has a LOOSE TOOTH! I can not believe how easily she started reading. She has known her letters and sounds for a while now and I finally got around to buying her some BOB book readers. She is doing great with them!
Recently, she told me that when she bit into a marshmallow, her front tooth hurt. I freaked out thinking that she must have a cavity. When I looked and realized it was super loose, tears came to my eyes! How is she old enough to be losing her teeth? I love her age now and wish I could freeze time!
Grace Ann does great in school and LOVES her friends. She is still strong-willed, but I think her behavior has improved a lot in the last 6 months (we are always working on the sassiness though!) My only concern is that she seems to have a lot of worry! She is very cautious and fearful! She hates loud noises (especially fireworks) and worries about any new situation. I wish I could take away all her fears but I know that isn't possible! I just try my best to keep calm and never to share my worries with her. Will and I both worry a lot too, so I guess she got that trait from us!
Grace Ann's favorite show is Sofia the First! She is obsessed! But she really just still loves TV in general. I am super picky about what she watches - thank goodness for Disney Junior and Nick Junior!
She loves gymnastics on Tuesdays with Lexi! She also loves her Auburn Tigers! She cracks us up doing the "running march" like the Auburn band around the house!
She is so snuggly and would rather be curled up in Will's arms on the sofa watching television than anywhere else! She is a great "second mother" to Lizzie - a little bossy - but also takes good care of her!
Lizzie is 2 1/2 and is growing so fast! She weighs 28 pounds and I'm not sure how tall she is. But is do know she is TALL - much taller than most of her friends and growing out of everything! She is built totally different from Grace Ann. She has the tiniest legs and not one ounce of baby fat left on her!
Lizzie was much slower learning to talk, but now she pretty much says whatever she wants. Sometimes we need a translator (like Grace Ann) to understand her, but her words are getting more clear everyday. Her nickname is "Busy" and Will and I tend to call her that more than "Lizzie". It describes her perfectly, because she NEVER STOPS! She doesn't watch television (maybe 5 minutes or so here and there). She would much rather be playing or doing PUZZLES! She is obsessed with puzzles and has gotten really good at them! She loves baby dolls and always wants to have a doll or stuffed animal to snuggle with. She is a pretty good eater and loves salty stuff (like Chick-fil-A hashbrowns or pretzles). She still loves Soccer Shots at school. She loves her teachers but sometimes I get notes from school that she doesn't obey. She isn't trying to be difficult, but she just doesn't have the attention span for circle time or to listen to a book. Wonder who she gets that from ?????
Lizzie still takes a two hour nap most every day at school but often skips naps on the weekends.
Lizzie is completely potty-trained and basically potty-trained herself with no help from me! It was so easy! She just started going to the potty when she wanted to while she was still wearing diapers. Eventually, she was staying dry all the time so I let her wear panties. It was NO STRESS AT ALL!
Lizzie has the funniest personality and is so silly! She is in the middle of the "trying twos" and is showing her independence more and more all the time, but for the most part she is a JOY!
I am so blessed with these two. God is really AMAZING! They are so different (Grace Ann more like me in every way and Lizzie more like Will), but yet each complements our family perfectly! They make me laugh everyday and I am so proud of them!
